Last bus stop for the weary and the heavy laden - the only way out of living a life in crisis.

Is your life full of weeping, wailing, failures and demonic oppression? Then realise one thing. Your only way to end this crisis is by accepting Jesus Christ into your life to direct your life and lead you away from sin.
Many were afflicted that they may learn the ways of God. Are you among them? Then end the affliction by learning His ways! Accept Him into your life. Like Jonah, if you disobey Him in this and choose to live in sin, you will remain in the belly of the big fish of poverty, demonic oppression and failure until you repent.
He has this to say:

“I, even I will tear and go away; I will take away and none shall rescue him. I will go and return to my place TILL they acknowledge their offence and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early” Hosea 5:14-15
God can destroy your success and none will save you till you acknowledge your sins and turn away from them by repenting and accepting Jesus into your life. Are you afflicted? Seek Christ early, before it is too late.
To be born-again, you must repent. Read about repentance in the other posting under the title “Repentance”. If you gave your life to Christ through this blog, please register in the follower’s section, so that we can keep praying for you. Indicate your e-mail address so that we can communicate you in the future and give you admonitions on how to grow into the image and likeness of Christ.

God bless you/

TOPIC: REPENTANCE BY FASTING & ABSTINENCE.. TEXT: LUKE 15:1-END

Preamble: Welcome to rthe Jesus blog. At times like this in the past, the Israelites fasted but complained that the Lord had not taken notice of them (Isaiah 58:3). The Lord pointed out so many things that they combined with their fast that made the entire exercise an unacceptable one before Him. He told them that they cannot fast in that manner and expect "their voice to be heard on high". They fasted in sin. Today, if you fast in a similar manner, you can never expect your voice to be heard on high. To make their fast acceptable before the Lord, the word of God in Isaiah 58 exhorted that their fast bear the following characteristics: Dealing bread to the hungry, sheltering the cast out, satisfying the afflicted soul, speaking God's word and not one's word, living for God and not for pleasure, Honoring God in all things, Living an unselfish life, ceasing from accusing others, stop speaking vanity, Keeping oneself from desecrating the Sabbaths and last but not the least, not covering one's faults (i.e. confession and repentance).
The Acceptable Fast: The Bible records some examples of acceptable fasts. In all cases of acceptable fasts, the evidence is always that we see God responding at the end of the fast. Daniel fasted and the angel Gabriel was sent to minister to him (Daniel 10). Jesus fasted and He was filled with the Holy Spirit, while the angels ministered to him (matt4). Moses fasted and received God's law written with the finger of God. Their fasts had some things in common. In all cases, there was abstinence from food, dedication to God and God alone, giving attention to God's word and prayer. What differentiates fasting from hunger strike is prayer. If you abstain from food but fail to pray during the period of fasting, your fasting is not acceptable before the Lord. Without repentance, you would simply be on "hunger strike". Why? Many times that we speak to God, we think that we are praying. Unfortunately, we are not. We are simply "abominating". When we pray in sin and without repentance, deaf to the laws of righteousness, it is not prayer but abomination (see Pr 28:9). Today, if you abstain from food, but refuse to repent and go ahead to pray, you are not fasting in an acceptable manner. This is because no acceptable prayer is attached to your fasting. Repentance is the key to an acceptable fast. If you want to fast and see God respond at the end of the Lenten season this year, you must turn your fast into an acceptable one by spicing, garnishing and filling it up with repentance.
What Repentance Is: One is said to have repented when one realizes that He has lived his life in ways that displease God. One will then have to re-adjust his ways, live in righteousness and holiness. When someone who has been living in sin turns around his life and begins to live in the way of Christ, this is evidence of Genuine repentance. From the Biblical point of view, repentance can be described by looking at the Greek and Hebrew words translated to mean repentance in the Holy Scriptures. They are:
1. Hebrew nocham meaning to regret sin.
2. Hebrew nacham meaning to sigh, breathe strongly or to be sorry. This is the first experience that a child of God will have during the process of his repentance. He has to discover the things he does that are not right before God and he has to be sorry that he is doing such things. He confesses them to God to show that he is sorry for doing them. This will energize Him to take the next step.
3. Hebrew shuwb meaning to turn back. As a child of God regrets his sin, he turns back to God by stepping out of the darkness engulfing him as he lives in sin. He turns back by stepping into the light that surrounds all who live in righteousness. He makes a U-turn in the right direction. He at this point prays Jesus to come into his life so that He can be born-again of the Holy Spirit. It is at this point that his name is written in the lamb's book of life in heaven and he becomes a true Cherub/Seraph. The journey of repentance that leads to spiritual maturity continues to the next step.
4. Greek metanoeo, meaning to change the mind for the better morally, to change the attitude towards sin. Here, the repentant fellow discovers that he must not welcome sin anymore. He locks his doors to his old partners in fornication and discards every appearance of evil.
5. Greek metanoia meaning a real change of mind and attitude towards sin and its cause, not merely the consequence of it. Here, the child of God tries to find out those things that lead him to sin and strives to keep away from them. Remember that the Bible requires that we should not sin at all (1John 2:1). However, when we sin, we try to find out the cause of our fall and to avoid them in the future. We discover that God uses our fall to make us wiser. We get experience from our fall and use it to improve. For instance, to learn how to skate, a skater must learn those things that normally push him down and avoid them in the future. He must find out the causes of his falls and make sure that they never push him down again in the future. This is related to our spiritual life.
6 Greek ametameletos meaning an irrevocable step. Repentance is a decision one makes that is irreversible and irrevocable. Our repentance decision is like a car that has no reverse gear. It must always move in the forward direction, closer to God and His throne and further away from the devil and his bondage.
Conclusion: Repentance is not: "Lord forgive me, though I do not know if it may repeat again". That is not genuine repentance. It can never turn our fast into an acceptable one for with it, our prayers are still an abomination before God. Repentance is "Father forgive me, it will never happen again". May the Holy Spirit that convicts the world of sin give us the grace to return to our father in heaven with these words in our mouth.
